"Rise and Shout...

the Cougars are out, along the trail to fame and glory!" Sing along with me Cougar fans! "Rise and shout, our cheers will ring out, as we unfold our victory story. " OK, enough already. Lance took the two big boys to a football game at the Rose Bowl. The Cougs came to Southern California to play UCLA and so there were a bunch of Mormons at the game. Actually, the UCLA quarterback is a Mormon and used to play for BYU, but he decided to go back to his roots, as he is a native Southern Californian. And he showed his former teammates what was up, by leading the Bruins to a 27-17 victory. Sorry Cougar fans! But they put up a good fight and Lance said it was a fun game to watch. He likes a good contest and not a total blowout, ya know.

Before the game, they met with some friends for a tailgate party.

Out in front of that famous Rose Bowl sign.

Lance said that the game attendance was about 72,000. That is one huge bowl! I love this shot. I really wanted to go to the game, but I did not want to go with Seth or Price. Unfortunately, they are not so much fun to be around during sporting events. The next time BYU comes to town, I am there. One of my favorite things about being a student at BYU was the football games. They were so great! There was so much energy and school pride. I love that. I was at BYU the year Ty Detmer won the Heisman trophy and that was so cool. Did I just totally date myself or does anyone even know who Ty Detmer is? Anyway, I digress as I reminisce. The boys had a lot of fun and they are the luckiest kids I know! I am going to try to pound into them how great BYU is so that when they are deciding what college to go to, BYU is first on their list!

I know who Ty Detmer is too! But like Stacy, I have bros who are all into football! The game was fun. Too bad you weren't there. Your kids were cute. I kept emberassing Johnathan by singing that fight song really loud. He said if I did it again he was going to send me to the other side of the stadium! Funny! I have a couple pics of your kids too, I'll have to e-mail them to you!
