Recycling

A year or so ago, I cleaned out Jonathan's T-shirt drawer. Now it was a very difficult task because Jonathan is the kind of kid that gets attached to his favorite clothes and won't let me throw anything away. So I had heard of someone making a memory blanket with old t-shirts and suggested this solution to him. He went for it and the shirts have been sitting in a bag for a very long time waiting to be assembled in a blanket. We finally got around to it last week and it turned out pretty cool. He loves it. The little navy blue pillow beside him was also made from a t-shirt and all the scraps that we had left over from cutting the shirts got stuffed inside the pillow as filling. We didn't waste one piece of fabric. It was a really fun project for both of us. Jonathan got to arrange the pieces just the way he wanted and he helped me run the sewing machine a little.

That is so cute! What a neat idea. Adam has a quilt with all his mission ties. He loves it.

IMPRESSIVE! I have been thinking of doing something similar to that with Marshall's bibs, but Derek reminds me we will have other children that will want use out of the bibs. One day... :)
